The next election in Illinois County is the General Primary on March 15, 2016. The following races will be on the ballot:

Becoming a candidate





Candidates are strongly advised to obtain legal counsel regarding your legal qualifications for office, the proper method for completing the petition forms with respect to the office, the minimum and maximum number of signatures and any other filing requirements.

Deadlines for filing paperwork





November 23 - November 30 is the filing period to become a candidate for the March 15, 2016 election.
December 7 is the last day for filing objections to nomination papers.
December 9 is the last day to conduct lottery for ballot placement.
January 7 is the last day to file withdrawal papers with the State Board of Elections.
January 14 is the last day to file a notarized declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate.
