Illinois County is currently recruiting election workers for the March 15, 2016 General Primary Election. Election workers are a critical part of the election process. What a great opportunity to serve your community.

Election worker requirements:
- U.S. citizen.
- Registered voter in Illinois County. High school juniors and seniors and college students do not need to be registered to vote, but must have a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Available to work on Election Day from 5:00 AM until 9:00 PM or until all of the closing procedures have been completed.
- Attend a mandatory training class.
Election worker pay:
- Election judges are paid $125 for Election Day and $50 for training.
- Election assistants are paid $100 for Election Day and $25 for training.

Who may be appointed as a deputy registrar?
- Librarian
- School principal and designated employees
- College president and designated employees
- Labor organization members
- Civic organization members
- Health care and family services director and designated employees
- Employment security director and designated employees
- Corporation president or designated employees
When may deputy registrars accept voter registrations?
Deputy registrars may accept voter registrations any time
except the 27-day period before each election. Registration is closed two days after each election.
